Pride and Passion
I just attended a HR seminar recently conducted by the marcom director of a company that specialises in making plastic bricks...
Well, she was good... and very importantly, she kept the session light and entertaining with some simple points for me to bring back to office and make some slow but sure changes to the team and I realised that I have been already doing what she highlighted in the seminar... hmm... maybe I should get a refund??!!?? haha
Anyway its been a month since I took on the managerial post in my company, managing my sales team, which I must say has really taken its toll on me for the first 35 days and this being the 36th day into the job... I had my first 3 resignations (2 were on the same day), my staff (one of the aunties in the gang) was so stressed by me till she cried (make that sobbing real loud, resting her head on the table, and nearly puking from all that crying... I'm serious...), another 1 staff whom I have been friends with one for more than a year (a.k.a. office slacker) will be resigning because he knows he can't slack anymore with me on his tails, I have hired 2 new girls on the team, and I will very likely have to fire the resident auntie and another untrainable one...
I'm such a devil boss... too bad I don't wear Prada... *grin* All in all, considering everything in perspective, I must say that this has been a very productive month for me with a more than 200% increase in sales from Dec 2006. But my social life has really taken a beating cos of my hectic work schedule... oh man, when was the last time since I last had... ahem... oh well, that will be a story for another time... hehe...
